Language therapy

Whether your child is a pre-communicator (limited babbling, few gestures, reduced eye contact), is at risk for communication/feeding/literacy challenges due to a diagnosis, is a late talker, or has a diagnosed delay, our approach is individualized and family-centered. We meet your child at their current stage and build practical skills through play, routines, and evidence-based strategies.

Speech Therapy

This therapy helps children who have difficulty pronouncing sounds correctly or who have sound patterns that make their speech hard to understand. We use fun, engaging activities to teach clear sound production and improve confidence when speaking.

Parent Coaching

Parent coaching means we work with you to teach, guide, and show you how to build your child’s skills during everyday routines like playtime, meals, and getting dressed. You’ll learn simple, effective strategies that turn ordinary moments into meaningful learning opportunities.

Early Steps

EarlySteps is Louisiana’s early intervention program for children birth to age 3. It helps families get services like speech, feeding, or physical therapy when there are developmental concerns. Services take place in your home or daycare so your child can learn in familiar settings with you involved every step of the way. Our therapists are enrolled EarlySteps providers—we complete no-cost evaluations through the program and, when eligible, deliver EarlySteps therapy. Not every child is eligible to receive therapy services through EarlySteps, but everyone is eligible for an evaluation. Children who are not eligible for EarlySteps can still receive services directly through Fox Speech Therapy. We can help get you started.

School-Age Literacy & Reading Support

For older children, we focus on reading comprehension, decoding, fluency, and written language. Therapy is designed to help children become confident readers and writers who understand what they read and can express their thoughts clearly.

Early Literacy

Early literacy support helps toddlers and preschoolers build the foundation for reading—through songs, rhymes, stories, and play. We focus on skills like listening, sound awareness, vocabulary, and establishing an early love of reading.

Oral Motor Support (Exercises)

Play-based exercises that help strengthen and coordinate the muscles of the mouth, tongue, lips, and jaw—often used alongside speech or feeding goals to support better movement and control.

Feeding Therapy - Sensory-Based

This type of therapy helps “picky eaters” - children who struggle with eating due to texture, taste, or sensory sensitivities. It’s about creating positive experiences with food—learning to touch, smell, and explore foods without pressure—so mealtimes become calmer and more enjoyable.

Oral-Motor Based Feeding & Swallowing Therapy

For little ones who have trouble chewing, swallowing, or coordinating their mouth muscles during feeding, we use gentle exercises and positioning techniques to strengthen the lips, tongue, and jaw. The goal is to make feeding safer, more comfortable, and more effective.

Autism-Aligned Support

We provide therapy that respects and supports each child’s unique learning and sensory needs. Sessions focus on connection, communication, emotional regulation, and play—helping children learn new skills in ways that feel safe, motivating, and affirming.

AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)

AAC includes tools like picture boards, communication books, or electronic devices that give children another way to express themselves. We help families choose and use AAC so that every child has a voice, whether through words, gestures, or technology.

Social Communication SupporT

Social communication therapy helps children connect, play, and interact meaningfully with others. Whether your child is just starting to notice peers, struggles with back-and-forth play or conversation, or needs help reading social cues and emotions, we focus on turn-taking, shared attention, emotional awareness, and flexible thinking—making daily interactions more successful and enjoyable.

Craniofacial / Cleft Lip Or Palate Support

Whether your child is pre- or post-surgery, showing early feeding challenges, or developing speech differences related to a cleft lip or palate, therapy focuses on safe feeding, oral-motor coordination, and clear sound development. We work closely with your family and care team to support progress through every stage—from feeding readiness to confident, clear speech.

Hearing Loss Support/AURAL REHAB

For children with hearing loss—whether using hearing aids, cochlear implants, or awaiting further evaluation—we build strong foundations for listening, speech, and language. Therapy emphasizes early auditory awareness, sound imitation, and meaningful communication through listening, sign, or both. Family coaching helps you feel confident supporting skills in everyday routines.
